Liverpool have offered Sevilla £16.2million plus Suso for left-back Alberto Moreno, according to reports.
Spanish newspaper Marca claims that the Reds hope to land the 21-year-old prior to Vicente Del Bosque’s announcement of his final World Cup squad. The report states that the two sides could even close the deal in the coming weeks.
Liverpool have been pursuing Moreno for some time and he is held in high regard around Anfield. This term he has caught the eye of a number of top European sides, including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Napoli.
The Spaniard recently helped his side to Europa League success and his impressive performances throughout the season have seen him named as a member of his nation’s 30-man provisional World Cup squad.
Sevilla will be keen to hold off accepting any offers in the hope that his valuation may increase should he impress in Brazil. However, the defender has a £24.4m release clause in his current contract so its unlikely bidding will reach much higher than the Reds’ current valuation.
It is not certain if Liverpool have offered Suso at all, or whether on loan or on a permanent basis. The Spaniard, who is a talented midfielder, could prove to very important in terms of squad depth next season and he could be retained for such reasons.
