Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Pochettino given £50m kitty, free transfer could be first signing

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

The Telegraph has suggested that Mauricio Pochettino will be given £50 million to spend in the transfer market this summer.

The Argentine was confirmed as the club’s head coach yesterday, moving to North London on a five-year deal.

The national daily has also suggested that he could use part of that kitty to go back to former club Southampton.

The Metro claims one of Mauricio Pochettino’s first signings as Tottenham boss could be Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand.

The veteran Premier League defender will not have his contract renewed under Louis van Gaal, with the Dutchman keen to move in a new direction.

Spurs are reportedly attracted by the player’s ample experience, which could help sure up their back four.

Tottenham are under pressure in terms of Loic Remy, with Arsenal reportedly getting the green light to sign him.

Remy has been linked with an £8 million switch to White Hart Lane, with the club in need of attacking reinforcements.

Arsenal will reportedly use their Champions League status to try and tempt the Frenchman into a move.
