Atletico Madrid's Turkish wing wizard Arda Turan could be on the move this summer after his agent confirmed an unnamed English side has made an offer for the La Liga title winner.
'Arda is currently playing at a big club with big ambitions,' said Turan.
'He wants to be a part of that success, but we must wait and see what happens,' Ahmet Bulut was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.
'An offer from an English club has arrived,' he added. 'As in every transfer, two parties, the player and the club, they make a decision.'
The website goes onto suggest United boss Louis van Gaal is behind the offer. 27-year-old Turan has been in fantastic form this season. Here are three potential questions posed by any deal:
What type of player is Turan?
The Turkish international during his time at Atletico has changed his style from a player that once looked to beat his man before passing, to a player that will get his head-up and find the best possible option. I believe, because of this, he has grown a lot as a player since his €12 million from Galatasaray in 2011. He now has the capability to surprise defenders, which before would have expected him to run at them.
Where would he fit into the Manchester United team?
As a winger, he is incredibly versatile in the fact he can play both wide-left and wide-right with ease. At Atletico, he has spent a lot of time playing left and right midfield as opposed to an attacking wide player, which last season United opted for. If Louis van Gaal does opt to sign Turan, it could indicate a change of formation too.
What are Arda Turan's strengths?
According to whoscored, the Turkish international's strengths are: Passing, holding on to the ball, dribbling and his defensive contribution. All in all, quite a good array of traits which ultimately give Manchester United something they currently lack in the wide positions.
