Arsenal are said to be looking for a holding midfielder this summer and German international Lars Bender was originally believed to be their number one target. Bender however has made it clear that he is not leaving Bayer Leverkusen this summer so they have had to move on to a new target - who is believed to be Real Madrid man Sami Khedira.
Arsene Wenger is said to be eyeing up the player - who is said to be valued at £15 million by Carlo Ancelotti, who is not believed to be a big fan of the player.
Khedira has been out of action for most of the season with injury but is undoubtedly a class act and he also has a good friend at the club in the form of Mesut Ozil - and the Arsenal record signing has been singing the praises of the player today.
The pair are currently training with the German national team ahead of the World Cup in Brazil. And Ozil has taken to Facebook to praise his friend, who he has dubbed the 'first world cup hero'.
Khedira would be a great option for Arsenal and if the likes of Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker can bend his ear than The Gunners might just be on to a winner.
