I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 28th May 2014, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 28th May 2013…
Andre the giant ... problem
In news dreaded by every Arsenal fan, flop left-back Andre Santos was set to return to the club. The hapless 'defender' had been on loan at Gremio ever since the signing of Nacho Monreal rendered him dispensable.
But the Brazilian club claimed they simply didn't have the cash to afford the then 30-year-old - much to all three parties disappointment.
Lucky for Arsenal they found another interested suitor. Flamengo stumped up the cash in July to sign him on a two-year contract - with Arsenal reportedly making a small loss on the €7 million signing from Fenerbahce - best remembered for swapping shirts with Robin van Persie at half-time.
Bye Bye Rafa
Chelsea officially announced that Rafa Benitez was no longer their 'interim' manager. A statement on the club's official website read:
"Chelsea Football Club has today released Rafael Benitez from his contract to become the new manager of Napoli."
Benitez led Chelsea to Europa League glory after taking over from sacked boss Roberto Di Matteo - but remained a deeply unpopular figure at the club for much of his tenure due to his past indiscretions as Liverpool boss.
Go go for Kolo
Liverpool confirmed they had signed Kolo Toure on a free transfer from Manchester City. The Ivorian was out of contract at The Etihad and Liverpool were after defensive reinforcements after the retirement of Jamie Carragher.
This summer it is the future of Kolo's brother Yaya which is in the spotlight.
