According to Sky Sports, a number of Premier League clubs are targeting available Argentinian playmaker Ever Banega with a view to a transfer this summer.
Banega's UK representative, Jonathan Hope, has confirmed a number of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing the South American.
'We have had immense interest in the Argentinian international,' Hope told Sky Sports.
'I can confirm I am personally speaking to two top clubs who have expressed real intent in capturing the player.
'He is a top quality player and he is still only 25. I believe he would be a major success in the Premier League.'
In light of the comments made by the player's agent, we have speculated which Premier League clubs may have expressed an interest in the Valencia midfielder and who could sign him this summer.
If Pochettino has been sounding out potential targets to Tottenham prior to his move then it makes sense that Banega may be a name on his list.
In 2009, when Pochettino got the job as Espanyol manager, the reputation of Banega was at its highest point. The young talent was a regular in the Argentinian national team and he was producing the goods for Valencia in La Liga.
Whether Tottenham need Banega or not is another matter, but he could be a player Pochettino has fond memories of.
Another manager, and club, that could be fond of Banega is Roberto Martinez's Everton.
Roberto Martinez, before going into management, was a regular guest on Sky Sports' Spanish football programme Revista de la Liga. Again, this was around a similar time Ever Banega was building up his exciting reputation in Spain due to his classy performances. Not to mention, Banega was previously targeted under David Moyes for Everton, but no move ever materialised.
He could be seen as the ideal gamble for Everton next season as they, once again, look to exceed expectations with regards to their budget restrictions.

The R's will undoubtedly look to strengthen their team this summer and have shown in the past that money can be no object to them.
Ever Banega fits the type of player, in my opinion, Harry Redknapp is likely to pursue this summer, because the former West Ham United manager has a track-record of signing players that have lost their way somewhat.
The 25-year-old is an exciting project and with the right nurturing could go back to being a top player.
