Januzaj And United Celebrate

Manchester United whizkid Adnan Januzaj made his debut for Belgium last night against Luxembourg.

It was a moment which almost never happened. With all the speculation over which country Adnan Januzaj would pick to represent, at one point Belgium looked as if they could be third or fourth choice for the teenager.

Having finally made his decision last month, it is already looking like the Manchester United youngster made the right pick.

Januzaj has been selected as part of Belgium's preliminary World Cup squad, and is almost certain to make it to the tournament. Belgium coach Marc Wilmots picked 24 players, but the one who will be cut will be a goalkeeper, with four selected due to one on a tight timescale to return from injury.

The international Red Devils were in action last night, winning comfortably against Luxembourg, as easy a test as they could have handed themselves.

Januzaj came off the bench for the second half, and immediately began impressing with his trickery.

Manager Marc Wilmots was impressed, although keen not to overhype the youngster: "He adds value to our collective. But there is a lot of competition for his position."

His debut made him the 100th United youth team player who has gone onto play international football.
