Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has told team-mates that he is to stay at Anfield for the long term according to the Daily Mail.

The report also states that there will be no bid for the Uruguayan striker from Real Madrid should French striker Karim Benzema agree a new deal at the Bernabeu.

Suarez and his wife are also said to have enrolled their daughter at a school on Merseyside, suggesting that he won’t be moving from Anfield anytime soon.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is to turn his focus onto transfers this summer after agreeing to a new long-term contract at the club.

Rodgers is quoted in the Liverpool Echo, saying: “We’re still working on signings, the staff behind the scenes, myself, the recruitment team, Ian Ayre – we’re all working hard in terms of looking to get players in. Of course, at the club, where we are now, the signings are complex, they are not all simple signings.

“But we need to strengthen up the squad and that’s something that we’re working hard to do over the next couple of weeks.”

The Echo’s article says Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana is top of the wish list at Anfield, with some reports indicating that Liverpool may have to pay as much as £30m for the player.

Dejan Lovren, Michel Vorm, Emre Can and Alberto Moreno are also said to be transfer targets.

The Daily Star is reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie.

The Congo international is said to be rated at £2.5m with Brendan Rodgers a long-term admirer of the 25-year-old.

The report says that Palace turned down a £2m bid for the player last week.
