Chelsea transfer news: Blues to use Luiz cash in Falcao bid, contact made over Varane

A round up of transfer stories about Chelsea this morning.

The Daily Star claims Jose Mourinho will use some of the cash from the sale of David Luiz to make a move for Monaco’s Radamel Falcao.

The Brazilian’s transfer to PSG is valued at £50 million, with the Portuguese reportedly aiming to use half of that amount to sign the Ligue One star.

Falcao has been periodically linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since his days at Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea continue to be linked with a move to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

The Frenchman is seen as the perfect replacement for David Luiz despite the fact Chelsea have two young deputies in the form of Tomas Kalas and Kurt Zouma.

The Mirror reports that contact has already been made with Real Madrid over a potential move.

Luis Felipe has said he’s not thinking about anything other than life at Atletico Madrid.

The left-back has emerged as a candidate to replace the outgoing Ashley Cole in Chelsea’s back four.

“I have a contract for three more years. My thought is to continue,” said Felipe.
