Chelsea transfer news: Luiz says goodbyes, Mourinho eyeing £50m Real Madrid deal?

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

David Luiz has said goodbye ahead of his big money move to French side Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea announced that a deal had been agreed with the Ligue One giants on their website and the Brazilian has offered his farewells.

“Thanks Chelsea for the three and half years of great partnership - I’d like to thank my team mates, all staff and all supporters (my geezers)” said Luiz.

The Express suggests that Jose Mourinho is keen to push on and complete a deal for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

Chelsea were linked with the Frenchman throughout last season, a player Mourinho once called the best young defender in the world.

Any fee could set the Blues back around £50 million, making him one of the most expensive defenders in history.

Turkish club Besiktas have emerged as a potential destination for Chelsea striker Demba Ba.

The Daily Mail claims they are ready to move for Ba and add him to their attacking pack for next season.

However, the forward recently revealed that Mourinho had told him he’d get a better chance in the Chelsea team next season.
