Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal's clear run at Fabregas, striker target tired of Serie A abuse

Mario Balotelli playing for AC Milan

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of plans to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.

The news means that Arsenal could have a clear shot at signing the Spaniard if Arsene Wenger wants to do a deal.

Arsenal have first option on re-signing Fabregas should any club make an official bid for him.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

The Gunners were reportedly looking at the Italian striker at various points last season though there were questions over his attitude and temperament.

Balotelli is thought to be tired of the racist abuse he has to contend with while representing the Serie A giants.

The Mirror claims Arsenal are looking to do a value deal for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

The German struggled during the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid and was taken off before extra time.

However, Khedira has a history of knee problems which could make Wenger think twice over a £15 million deal.
