The Ghanian star is on Liverpool's radar and may be set to provide some depth to their midfield ahead of next season's campaign.
The Ghanian hit 5 goals in 29 appearances as Udinese came home in a disappointing 13th place in Serie A.
With Antonio Di Natale's form dipping just a little as he turned 36, and the Bianconeri missing the defensive displays of Mehdi Benatia since his move to Roma, 23-year-old midfielder Badu was one of the real bright spots of the Udinese campaign.
It was the club's worst league finish in four years, and the trick for the Udine side will now be keeping hold of their talented youngster, who is set to add to his 48 caps for Ghana in Brazil.
He has already been linked to Premier League runners up Liverpool, with Rodgers reported as being interested in the former Berekum Arsenal man as early as January. With Lucas Leiva's future uncertain, there is very much room for a player with a bit of steel to come into Liverpool's midfield.
Badu himself left a transfer to a stronger team a possibility, whilst playing down making a demand to leave Udinese.
"I have a contract with Udinese and I'm growing up a lot here," he told reporters.
"This year I scored five goals, but if there's a chance to move to a bigger team? We'll see what happens.
"My desire is to stay here, but everything depends on the club.
"Right now though, I am focused on the World Cup. My agent is the one that is thinking about my future."
