Spurs transfer news: £12m striker bid linked; ‘keeper agrees summer switch

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid to bring Alvaro Morata to White Hart Lane this summer, according to the Metro.

The Real Madrid striker has been linked with a switch to Arsenal, although in recent days a loan move to Real Sociedad had also been touted.

But the latest story claims Tottenham are prepared to offer £12million for Morata.

The player’s goal-to-minutes ratio made him the most effective striker in La Liga this season. But Spurs fans will know that success in Spain does not automatically equate to the same in the Premier League after Roberto Soldado struggled following his big-money move last year.

In other news, Heurelho Gomes will join Championship side Watford this summer, once his contract with Spurs expires.

The Watford Observer reports that Gomes has agreed a one-year deal with the option of a second season at Vicarage Road.

Gomes had mixed experiences at Spurs, dropping from first-choice to third-choice following a spell on the side-lines, being replaced by Brad Friedel and then seeing current number one Hugo Lloris arrive at the club.
