I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 24th May 2014, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 24th May 2013…
No cash for Ash
Arsenal had reportedly agreed terms with Swansea City defender Ashley Williams. The Wales captain was coming off the back of an exceptional campaign with the South Wales club in which he had helped Michael Laudrup's men to a top half finish in the Premier League and League Cup glory.
However Arsenal, along with Liverpool, never managed to agree a fee with the club for the services of their captain.
A year on and it would be very unlikely to see either team move back in for Williams after something of a poor season compared to his high standards.
David Moyes was not messing around when it came to making changes to the backroom staff at Manchester United.
A year later and of course Moyes is gone, as is Round, while Chris Woods looks set to be replaced by Frans Hoek at Old Trafford - as Louis van Gaal looks to bring in his own playing staff to the club.
Liverpool looked set to sign up Bosnian international goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. He was even quoted as telling Bosnian media:
"I’ll start preparing on July 10, with all the players of Liverpool."
Of course this proved to be utter nonsense. Begovic never said the alleged quote and Liverpool eventually signed Sunderland keeper Simon Mignolet to replace Pepe Reina.
