A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United…
Following the reports that new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has ended the club’s interest in Toni Kroos, an old transfer favourite has returned to the rumour mill.
Former manager David Moyes was strongly linked with a move for Fabregas last summer only to be somewhat embarrassed when he remained where he was.
But the latest report claims United are prepared to pay big money for the former Arsenal man, and are willing to offer him £250,000-a-week.
The same report claims van Gaal also wants Kevin Strootman and Arjen Robben in his new-look United team.
In other news, former United player Lee Sharpe believes Ryan Giggs is the ideal man to take over from van Gaal when the Dutchman leaves United.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Sharpe said, “For me, it’s an ideal scenario. The new manager comes in, does three, four, maybe five years depending on how it goes. I think after that, Giggsy will be the man to take the job on.”
Only time will, tell, but for now the Welshman will be helping van Gaal rebuild a team that is in need of some fine-tuning ahead of the new campaign.
