Sterling cedes Clippers to wife, will sell: NBC

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has ceded control of the Los Angeles Clippers to his wife Shelly, who will negotiate the sale of the team, sources told NBC on Friday.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Donald Sterling for life on April 29 and fined him $2.5 million after a recording of him making racist comments surfaced. ESPN reported that Shelly Sterling, who had previously shared ownership of the team, had been meeting with the NBA since that date.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburnereported that the leaguehad not yet accepted the arrangement.
