David Silva has stated that the Ivorian has always seemed happy to him and that his own future is at the Etihad Stadium.
While others have suggested that the African’s agent’s comments are being used to demand more money or a coaching role, things have yet to be clarified.
David Silva has played alongside Toure for City for a number of years and has given his thoughts on the situation.
“I’ve been playing with the guy for years and I’ve always thought he was okay,” the Spain international is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“So I don’t understand why anyone would necessarily think he was unhappy - he’s always seemed fine to me.”
Silva has himself been the subject of transfer speculation, with rumblings that Barcelona or Real Madrid could try to bring the playmaker back to La Liga.
However, the diminutive schemer has confirmed that his future is with City and that he wants to win the Champions League next.
“At the moment, I’m very happy and don’t see any changes ahead,” he continued.
“You never get tired of winning, and at the moment I’m winning with City, so I don’t have any ideas of making a change.
“I’ve always said I’m very happy at City. With football you can never predict what’s going to happen. But at the moment I’m happy and happy to stay there.
"The manager has created a good atmosphere and brought a better energy to the pace, and the result of that is we won two trophies last season.
“We want to build up to winning the Champions League.
“Last season, the group wasn’t too difficult, but we aspire to win the Champions League next time. That’s the objective.
“After winning these titles in the last few years, the very next objective is to win the Champions League.”
Silva is contracted to 2017 and has been a key creative force at the Manchester club since moving from Valencia.
He has been named in the Spain squad to defend the World Cup in Brazil this summer.
