A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.
The search for a new Tottenham boss may have taken a twist according to some reports.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Chairman Daniel Levy is awaiting the outcome of tomorrow’s Champions League final, as he is waiting on the fate of Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti whose side take on Atletico Madrid in Lisbon tomorrow evening, as there may be a chance the former Chelsea manager could be sacked.
The Daily Express is citing reports that front-runner for the job Mauricio Pochettino may sign a new contract at Southampton. It was reported yesterday by the London Evening Standard that Pochettino is admired by Levy, but some members of the Spurs hierarchy have their doubts.
The 26-year-old is said to cost around £8m with Liverpool, Manchester United and Monaco all said to be interested in the player.
Spurs enquired about the 28-year-old, who is currently at French side Lille, in January as did Arsenal. The report says that an offer from either North London club would suit the Ivory Coast international.
Tottenham, along with Arsenal, have been linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Sebastian Giovinco.
London 24 have picked up an interview his agent Andrea D’Amico has given to Calcionews24.com, where he says: ““I am not surprised that Arsenal and Tottenham are being linked, considering the quality of Arsene Wenger’s choices and the fine level of Tottenham’s squad.
“However, they are not the only clubs. Olympiacos, Monaco and Liverpool? There are many other teams, as Giovinco is appreciated everywhere. Before anything we’ll talk to Juventus and then we’ll see.”
