Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in former Manchester City boss and a veteran striker, according to the latest reports.
Tottenham Hotspur's transfer market intent could provide an indication whether the club truly has ambitions of cracking the top four Premier League positions and, if the recent speculative targets are anything to go by, that intent is clear.
There have been many candidates put forth by the media for the position - available due to the departure of Tim Sherwood - including former Liverpool don Rafael Benitez, Southampton revolutionary Mauricio Pochettino and unfancied stricken erstwhile Manchester United head coach David Moyes.
Mancini, 49, has great managerial pedigree having won cup competitions in Serie A with three different teams, as well as a hat-trick of Scudetti with Internazaionel, a Premier League and FA Cup honours list with Manchester City and the domestic cup in Turkey with Gala.
One of the recruits Mancini may work with is Chelsea misfit Samuel Eto'o.
The Cameroonian has, in previous weeks, called Blues boss Jose Mourinho a: "a fool" and then b: "a puppet". The player's contract expires next month and would be available on a free transfer.
Whilst not considered a Chelsea success, Eto'o did return 14 goals and three assists from 26 starts in combined Premier League and Champions League competition.
