Manchester United appear to have dropped interest in Toni Kroos, report The Guardian, capping an eventful week for the German.
Just days earlier he was toasting becoming a German Cup winner, his second major trophy of the season under Pep Guardiola.
And the Spanish boss got his own back on the stubborn midfielder, who has caused the club a headache after refusing to commit to a new deal.
Kroos confirmed yesterday he had in fact turned down a contract offer from Bayern, but their stance they will not be upping their offer leaves him having to make a u-turn or wait to leave on a free.
Guardiola was pictured pouring a giant glass of beer over an unsuspecting Kroos' head after the win, keen to ensure he was not the one caught out.
Frequently in celebrations it has been the manager who lands up soaked with champagne, Guardiola was just as keen to get in on the act himself, proving there is no shortage of team spirit at Bayern.
Kroos of course took it all in great nature, but we can't help but wonder how the super-sensitive Yaya Toure would have felt if Manuel Pellegrini poured a glass of beer over his head, with him already smarting about a lack of a birthday present from the club.
