Milan could finally sign Liverpool loanee, if his teeth allow it

Five years after AC Milan first seemed to have signed Aly Cissokho he may finally be on his way to San Siro.

Aly Cissokho has been at Liverpool on loan this season but won't be staying on at Anfield and AC Milan look likely to move for the Valencia left-back.

Cissokho would have been a Milan player five years ago but for a strange series of circumstances.

In June 2009, Milan announced that they had signed Cissokho from Lyon for around £12.5m but he failed a medical when it picked up problems with his teeth.

It was claimed that the tooth problems could be linked to a spinal issue, so Milan began to back away from the deal.

Cissokho passed a second medical on the same day but Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani attempted to negotiate a discount from Lyon and the deal fell through.

But now the 26-year-old may be headed for Milan as his name has entered into discussions over the future of defender Adil Rami, who has been on loan from Valencia to Milan.

It is believed that Milan want to keep Rami permanently after an impressive spell but that his price tag may be too high.

According to Tuttosport, Milan want to discuss both Rami and Cissokho at the same time with an eye to landing at least one of them for next season.

Cissokho was spotted at Milan's final Serie A game of the season against Sassuolo, but the player's agent moved to quieten speculation it was linked to a transfer.
