The Liverpool front-man has assured fans of the South American nation that he will be fit in Brazil after undergoing surgery
Luis Suarez has moved to allay fears that he could be set to miss out on the World Cup, after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
With rumours spreading that Uruguay’s key man was set to miss out on playing at the World Cup, he spoke out to confirm that he would be available for selection in Brazil.
He said to South American radio station, Ovacion: “Be calm, I am going to get there.
“Thanks for all your support. I am going to work really hard in the coming days to be at 100 per cent and help my team-mates.”
Suarez is widely expected to be one of the stars at the upcoming World Cup, after his sparkling season in the Premier League, which saw him claim the top scorer’s crown by a considerable distance.
If he isn’t able to play it will make England’s task that much easier, though. The Three Lions have been drawn in the same group as Suarez’s Uruguay and his absence would make their strike-force look markedly less intimidating.
