Arsenal latest: £25m Fabregas return suggested and Sagna to City

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates Stadium.

Cesc Fabregas reportedly wants a return to the Premier League, with Arsenal said to be interested in re-signing their former captain. The Spanish international has reportedly been considering leaving Barca recently after struggling to get the amount of football he desires at his boyhood club.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all believed to be keen on the player - but Arsenal would remain the favourites to snap him up should he decide to leave Barca this summer.

Arsenal have a buy-back clause in his current deal believed to be worth £25 million but the question remains of whether Arsenal need him in their current team. If not United would look odds-on to get their man.

Bacary Sagna has reportedly agreed a deal to join Manchester City on a three year deal. The Frenchman's contract expires this summer and he has been linked with a host of clubs. But it seems the Premier League champions have won the race, according to reports in France.

Arsenal director Lord Harris has made it clear that funds will be available for The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger this summer.

He did not rule out the potential to break the club's record transfer fee once again either:

“We want to win the Premier League and the Champions League. If we buy two or three players then I think we can. We want to win. If Arsene has asked for any player then we have always backed him to go and buy. With the exception of Messi, Ronaldo or Bale; we could buy most players.”

Former goalkeeper David Seaman believes the club need two quality signings in midfield and attack. He even mentioned he would like to see Yaya Toure at the club:

"I think they need a striker because (Olivier) Giroud almost carried the team on his shoulders up front on his own. Luckily this season he wasn't injured much and had a big part to play, but they need a new striker and they need a more dominant midfield player, a Patrick Vieira type or a Yaya Toure type."
