'On this day six years ago I was lifting this with my teammates,' Rio Ferdinand wrote on his Instagram account on Wednesday morning.
The 'this' to which he was referring was the Champions League trophy, and it appeared the Manchester United defender was in a mood to reminisce as he approaches the end of his time at Old Trafford.
'Time flies eh?' Ferdinand added. And when you consider that six seasons have passed since that penalty-shoot-out victory over Chelsea, you would surely agree with him.
That night saw Cristiano Ronaldo and Frank Lampard trade goals before John Terry's slip and Edwin van der Sar's save from Nicolas Anelka ultimately gave United the cup.
It was to be Sir Alex Ferguson's final European trophy. But now with Louis van Gaal at the helm, United's current side will be hoping to replicate that night sooner rather than later.
As for Ferdinand, his future is unclear, with his time at United coming to an end this summer. But whatever happens he has glorious memories - of which that night in Moscow is just one.
