Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain claims that he is “hungry for more” trophies.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is only 20 and has just won his first major silverware with Arsenal. And he is already looking forward to tasting more trophy success in the future.
Oxlade-Chamberlain joined the Gunners from Southampton in 2011 amid suggestions that he is one of the best and most promising teenagers in England. So far he has lived up to those expectations, despite his injury problems.
In the past three seasons, the youngster has made a total of just 23 starts in the Premier League, but his talent has been under no doubt. With his pace, power and trickery, Arsenal have always looked a better and more energetic side every time the attacker has come on.
England too have looked a different team with him on the pitch, which is why even before his 21st birthday he has 14 international caps to his name, has appeared at Euro 2012 and is now set to feature at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil next month.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is a star in the making and although he is currently recovering from a groin injury and is reportedly doubtful for the Three Lions, there can be no question that he is someone on whom both Arsenal and England can pin their hopes on. And his latest message on social networking site Twitter suggests that he is ready for the challenge.
Arsenal ended their nine-year trophy drought on Saturday by winning the FA Cup at London’s Wembley Stadium, while England have flattered to deceive for years in major international competitions. But both the Gunners and the Three Lions faithful can rest assured in the knowledge that Oxlade-Chamberlain is someone who is keen on taking them to glory.
