One of Bayern Munich's hottest attackers has highlighted his fondness for recently-appointed Manchester United boss.
With great announcements come even greater expectations.
The signing of Louis van Gaal to a three-year managerial deal at Manchester United has acted as a catalyst for rampant speculation.
Having disappointed their global fan-base with a tame seventh place finish in the Premier League and a failure to land European football for the following season, there was always the prospect of an aggressive recruitment policy when the transfer market reopened for trading in the summer.
The appointment of van Gaal, though, has seen an even higher calibre of footballer speculatively linked with an Old Trafford switch.
Luke Shaw remains a target, however, there are now rumours Arjen Robben, Toni Kroos and Mats Hummels could be acquired.
£40m-rated attacker Thomas Muller, 25, returned 13 goals, ten assists and 60 goal-scoring chances from 31 Bundesliga appearances in the past season (25 starts) and is fast emerging as an active pitch legend due to his winners medal haul at Bayern Munich and his performances for the German national team.
His latest comments will no doubt whip up a media frenzy.
Muller reminded Sport Bild that he is contracted at the Allianz Arena until 2017, but stressed: "It's not a secret that Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes a bit further than a normal trainer-coach relationship."
Muller is a three-time Bundesliga champion, three-time DFB Pokal titlist and a Champions League winner.
