Van Gaal new Man UTD manager Giggs assistant Go Project REVENGE #MUFC— Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) May 19, 2014
Bundesliga expert and TV pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft has described Manchester United’s appointment of Louis van Gaal as manager as a revenge mission.
The Netherlands national coach will takeover at Old Trafford following the World Cup in Brazil this summer, as United look to fight their way back to the top of the Premier League.
It’s a decision which has initially been praised in several sections of the media and although previously critical, Fjortoft has suggested the appointment will help United get some revenge over rivals who toyed with them last season.
United endured several high profile defeats to their rivals, with heavy losses away at Manchester City and at home against Liverpool.
Those results would have left a scar in the minds of United’s players, staff and fans who will be determined to set the record straight when the new campaign gets under way this August.
United will have a new boss, a new assistant boss and a new look squad and Fjortoft suggests that ‘Project REVENGE’ has already begun.
