Following an eventful few days where Louis van Gaal was a: confirmed as the permanent Manchester United manager after agreeing a three-year contract with the Old Trafford outfit and b: fulfilled media obligations by appearing on Dutch national television where he talked extensively over the appointment, the renowned and cultured head coach has resumed his responsibilities with the Netherlands national team ahead of their involvement in the FIFA World Cup competition in Brazil, which begins next month.
In the top image, van Gaal talks to the press at the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam (today), ahead of a training camp in Portugal. In the second photo, former Tottenham Hotspur attacker Rafael van der Vaart is one of the first to collect his luggage off of the team bus as Oranje arrive at their base in Lagos, the Algarve.
The penultimate picture seemingly shows van Gaal and his future student at Manchester United, Robin van Persie, lament the weather as they appear to have brought the famed Dutch climate with them to one of the most luscious areas in Western Europe.
However, undeterred, the show - or training, at least - had to go on, as diminutive playmaker Wesley Sneijder leads the team out on a trip to the pitch.
The Netherlands are in a tough group having been drawn against Australia, Chile and reigning World Cup champions Spain. Ahead of their matches against Spain (June 13), Australia (June 18) and Chile (June 23), though, they have two international friendlies scheduled, against Ghana on May 31 and Wales on June 4.
