Inter are set to bid farewell to Walter Samuel, Diego Milito, Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso who starred in their 2010 treble-winning side.
And current Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who masterminded that extraordinary achievement, sent a video message in honour of the four men whose Inter careers ended with a 2-1 loss to Chievo.
"I was part of the Inter family and it remains in my heart. I am happy to have lived those two years, to have won and to have got to know great men like you on and off the field."
Mourinho will never be forgotten at Inter for delivering the Italian Cup, Serie A and Champions League titles to a club that is renowned for underachievement.
This season has been something of a return to that underachievement with Inter only managing in finishing in fifth but at least securing a place in next season's Europa League unlike city rivals AC Milan.
There will be a significant summer clear-out overseen by Inter president Erik Thohir, who took over from the long-serving Massimo Moratti halfway through the season.
Powerful defender Samuel is leaving with his contract coming to an end, marksman Milito is expected to return to Argentina while legend Zanetti is retiring and Cambiasso won't be offered a contract extension.
