Glenn Hoddle reveals his opinion on Mauricio Pochettino

The former England manager has stated that the Southampton boss would be an excellent option for Tottenham.

Tottenham are in the market for a new manager after axing Tim Sherwood at the culmination of the season, with Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino one of the reported frontrunners.

Former Spurs player and coach Glenn Hoddle was in the running to replace Andre Villas-Boas and was later involved in a public war of words with Sherwood.

Hoddle has given Pochettino his backing however, and believes the South American could be the man to fire Spurs back into the top four.

“I think Pochettino is a super young manager,” Hoddle told talkSPORT.

“He has done a brilliant job at Southampton and I think he would be a very good acquisition for Tottenham.

“I’ve been very impressed with the way he’s had Southampton playing this year, and I think with the squad at Tottenham I think he could do real wonders there.”

Pochettino only has one year left at St Mary’s and is being touted as someone that Spurs want to approach.

Other contenders for the job reportedly include Roberto Mancini and Frank de Boer.
