Conte D-day may also be Evra's D-day

Juventus coach Antonio Conte is set for decisive meetings over his future today and Patrice Evra's fate may be tied to the Bianconeri boss.

While the English press are convinced that Manchester United defender Patrice Evra will join Juventus, the Italian media have suggested everything may depend on whether or not coach Antonio Conte stays.

Despite securing a third consecutive Scudetto, Juventus boss Conte is not satisfied and has responded angrily to suggestions that the Old Lady should be able to conquer Europe.

Conte insists that he can't do any better with the resources at his disposal and is set to meet Juventus directors for crunch talks today over whether he will stay or leave.

It is suggested that Conte is looking for assurances that the Bianconeri will spend heavily in the summer on some big-name stars.

Evra has been repeatedly linked with Juventus as the Frenchman's future at Manchester United is clouded by the likely arrival of Luke Shaw.

But, according to Tuttosport and several other Italian media outlets, Conte isn't convinced that Evra is the right player for a Juventus side aiming for Champions League glory.

Conte reportedly wants younger players and isn't happy with the idea of bringing in a 33-year-old, so if he does stay he may veto the switch.

Evra is said to be ready to put pen to paper on a two-year deal but if he does so he may be the first signing of the post-Conte era.
