Are Apple and Samsung about to settle out of court?

The Korea Times claims that the two tech giants could be about to settle all patent disputes out of court.

The report written by Kim Yoo-chul (found via MacRumors) says that Apple and Samsung might be close to reaching an agreement involving some royalties being paid presumably by Samsung.

This latest rumour comes just after it emerged that Apple and Google/Motorola Mobility agreed to settle their patent lawsuits out of court.

An anonymous source told The Korea Times: "Samsung has recently resumed working-level discussions with Apple and the key issue is how to dismiss all lawsuits.

"Some more time will be needed to fix terms of details such as royalty payments in return for using patents owned by each before reaching a full agreement."

Just two weeks ago both companies were found guilty of knowingly infringing on each other's intellectual property.

Samsung were ordered to pay Apple $119.6 million, which dwarfs the $158,400 that Apple were ordered to pay Samsung in return.

This latest decision if proved to be true is a very good thing for both companies. For too long they have been embroiled in a patent war and the only people that was doing any good was the lawyers that were raking in their million dollar fees.

Hopefully when this all blows over both can get back to doing what they do best, which is making great products for us consumers to enjoy.
