On Friday the president of Real Sociedad was in London, desperately trying to cancel a buyback clause Arsenal have signed into the contract of their star forward Carlos Vela.
Vela, who has previously protested against the idea of a return to North London, seemed to perform a turn of face on the subject earlier in the month when he admitted he would not 'close the door' on an Arsenal return.
Vela was sold to Sociedad in 2012 and is now valued by the Basque club at £25 - but Arsenal can have him back for just €4 million which is a bargain that cannot be passed up.
Today he was in action for Real Sociedad and scored again - his 16th goal of the season coming in the 93rd minute of the game.
But it was heartache for his current club. Sociedad were taking on Villarreal at the Anoeta and Vela's consolation as Los Amarrillos were already 2-0 up thanks to strikes from former Spurs star Giovani Dos Santos and Nigerian striker Ikechukwu Uche.
That result means Villarreal have now usurped Sociedad into sixth place and the final Europa League spot. Fortunately however Sociedad have still qualified thanks to fifth placed Sevilla winning the Europa League last week.
But if he wants to play Champions League football next term he will need to return to Arsenal, so could this be his last goal for Real Sociedad.
