The bottom of La Liga is set for a hectic final day, as up to five clubs can still join the already relegated Real Betis in dropping down to the Spanish second division.
Real Valladolid and Osasuna currently occupy the final two relegation spots, but Granada, Getafe and Almeria can all still face the drop if results go against them on Sunday.
Almeria, three points clear of the drop, know that only a draw at home to Athletic Bilbao is required to guarantee them safety.
It's been an excellent turnaround for Almeria, who only a few weeks ago seemed all-but certain to be relegated. Driven on by Liverpool loanee Suso, the relegation battlers have notched up three straight wins, and they will turn again to the Anfield man to provide the final inspiration.
The 20-year-old sensation moved to Liverpool and joined the Reds academy in 2010, after being convinced by former Spanish boss Rafa Benitez. After three years of being in-and-out of the Liverpool first-team squad, current Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers felt Suso needed first-team experience elsewhere, and Suso was therefore shipped out to Almeria last July.
Despite a slow start back in Spain, the Spanish U21 international has become a key player for Almeria and his recent performances have given the club a much-needed boost. In 26 La Liga starts, he has netted three goals and assisted a further seven – topping the club’s assist charts.
Susu will no doubt be working hard to ensure Almeria preserve their La Liga status before returning back to Anfield and finding out what his future holds.
