Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos took a defiant swipe at the club's critics after their German Cup Final win over Borussia Dortmund.
The German international had seemingly become fed up with all the pre-game discussion, and rivals Dortmund being talked up, after their 3-0 win over Bayern several weeks ago.
Bayern edged a fiercely contested final 2-0 after extra time, thanks to goals from Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller.
The win capped a domestic double in Pep Guardiola's first season, only overshadowed by a comprehensive Champions League semi-final loss to Real Madrid.
That loss has contributed to Bayern's season being talked down, and midfielder Toni Kroos to gladly vent his feelings after the cup final win via his Facebook page.
"Double winner! After the Cup, we get another Cup! And this is deserved. I'm proud of our team. That was the correct answer to the criticism of the load few weeks. Apparently the clear underdog won the game yesterday..."
Kroos' message was clear, write Bayern off and we will come back to make you look silly.
As for his own future, Kroos is yet to address where he will be playing next season. He has just one year remaining on his present deal at Bayern, but is yet to agree a new contract.
He always said he would wait until the end of the season to decide, with Manchester United targeting his signature as part of their rebuilding.
At present it seems as though his thoughts are in the short-term at least, very much with Bayern Munich and celebrating their second trophy of the season.
