The hype surrounding Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus has increased dramatically as the season has gone on following an impressive campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
With Mario Goetze already at Bayern and Robert Lewandowski set to join him this summer, Marco Reus has been widely tipped as the next big star to depart the Westfalenstadion.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the German international and the Red Devils have not been put off by his €33m release clause.
Marco Reus possesses balance, strength, excellent dribbling ability and an eye for a goal and his qualities would certainly light up Old Trafford should he ever make the move.
The 24-year-old’s startling campaign, however, hasn’t gone unnoticed in Germany as Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich have found out. With the two German giants set to meet this Saturday in the German Cup final, Bayern defender Dante previewed the event by heaping praise on Dortmund’s star man.
“Marco Reus is one of the strongest players I have played against this season.” He said, quoted by Goal.com.es
“He has qualities to be one of the best 10 footballers in the world.”
In 26 Bundesliga starts, Marco Reus has scored 16 goals and assisted a further 13 – contributing to a goal on average every 80 minutes.
Despite Dortmund’s hopes that Marco Reus will remain at the club this summer, Bayern Munich's German dominance may persuade the star to leave the club with long-term admirers Man United under the guidance of Louis Van Gaal possibly representing an opportunity too good to miss.
