Chelsea loanee Thorgan Hazard has been a hit while on loan at Zulte-Waregem, earning considerable plaudits in Belgium for an excellent campaign.
Like his older brother Eden, Thorgan is a tricky winger who possesses balance, strength, a powerful shot and superb dribbling ability which has frightened Belgian defences all the season.
The 21-year-old has been at Zulte on loan for the past two years, though it was this season where he really came into his own – scoring 15 goals and driving the team on in the Europe League.
After receiving the Golden Boot award in January, Chelsea’s young star recently netted the Player of the Year award in the Belgian league.
While the awards were greatly received and will certainly boost his confidence, arguably the younger Hazard’s most treasured moment this season came during Zulte-Waregem’s last home game of the season.
The home supporters displayed a huge homage for the playerwhich read: ‘Arrived as little brother of (Eden Hazard), leaving as our Golden Boy, Thorgan Hazard.’
This summer, Hazard is expected to return to Stamford Bridge and sit down to talk with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
The Blues boast an array of attacking talent in their squad, therefore it would not be surprising to see the young Belgian international head out on loan once more but possibly to a more challenging club.
