Brazilian defender Dante has no desire to leave Bayern Munich anytime soon.
Manchester United need improvements this summer in many areas, one of which is central defence.
Nemanja Vidic is on his way to Inter Milan and Rio Ferdinand has confirmed he will be leaving in the summer.
And they have been linked with several central defensive options over the last few months. But it would seem this one is definitely out of their reach.
In January Manchester United were said to be interested in the services of Bayern Munich defender Dante.
The Brazilian international was reportedly all set to make the move and even spoke of his happiness at the interest from such a big club.
But despite the interest in a reported deal he signed a new contract at Bayern in March, tying himself down to the Allianz Arena until 2017 and he said of the move at the time:
“I remain very happy to stay at least until 2017 in Munich. I am sure we can still have a lot of fun and success with our team in the coming years.”
And now he has gone even further with his declaration of love at his current club. Talking to Goal.com he made it clear that his future lies with The Bavarians.
“I am happy at Bayern. I'm in the first team, everything is great. My aim is to stay here as long as possible. If I could end my career in Munich, I would be the happiest man in the world. I never identified myself so strong with a team like I have at Bayern. If Bayern didn't want me, it would be a different case, but I will always be a fan of this club. This team, these fans and the city have given me a lot."
Any loose hope of reconjuring up a Dante deal appear unlikely.
