Southampton, Barcelona, Napoli, Cardiff City and Real Betis stars all feature.
Whoever is appointed to the top job at White Hart Lane has his work cut out to improve the side for a top four assault after the World Cup.
We’ve taken a look at the rumour mill over the past week and have assessed some of the best players linked with signing for Tottenham.
Adam Lallana (Southampton)
There have been reports suggesting Lallana could be tempted into a Tottenham move if Mauricio Pochettino is appointed as the club’s next manager. However, some sources have suggested that Liverpool have already made a bid for the England international while Manchester United are also apparently interested.
Isaac Cuenca (Barcelona)
Cuenca is reportedly staring at a Barcelona exit this summer and Tottenham are one of the clubs mentioned in connection to him. Spurs’ past interest in Cuenca means they are an option, but Liverpool and Arsenal are among the rivals Spurs will have to compete against to do a deal.
Valon Behrami (Napoli)
The former West Ham United midfielder has been one of Rafa Benitez’ best players at Napoli this season. He’s rated at around the £16 million mark, which Spurs can afford, but whether the club needs another central midfield player is something only the new gaffer can decide.
David Marshall (Cardiff City)
Marshall is one of the alternatives mentioned to current Spurs number one Hugo Lloris. The Cardiff goalkeeper has attracted interest from several top sides following his exploits for the Welsh club last season. He’s valued at around £8 million by the recently relegated side.
Alvaro Vadillo (Real Betis)
Spurs are reportedly leading the race to sign the highly talented winger. He can play down either side of the midfield, which provides Tottenham with different options in attack. However, Liverpool and Arsenal are also thought to be interested, which will make a quick deal difficult.
