The top five players linked with signing for Liverpool this week: Lukaku, Lallana and more

Real Madrid, Chelsea, Southampton, Lille and MK Dons stars all feature.

It’s an exciting time for Liverpool fans despite the fact the club missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City last weekend.

Brendan Rodgers has moved quickly to address questions over his transfer plans this summer, revealing that he’s looking for quality signings rather than bringing in players for the sake of doing so.

We’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with the club this past week.

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

If, and it’s a big if, Benzema leaves Real Madrid this summer then Liverpool can offer him what he’d be looking for in terms of domestic and European football. However, there are still reports that Arsenal and Manchester United are interested, which could create problems in getting a deal done quickly.

Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea)

As difficult as it is to see Lukaku moving to Liverpool, it would be a superb piece of business by Rodgers. The Belgian has the ability to slot into the Reds’ attack in place of one half of SAS and would offer the side something different with his physical presence and power.

Adam Lallana (Southampton)

This is the big potential deal which has been running for most of this week. The Saints midfielder is rated at anywhere between £20-30 million depending on which report you’ve read. He’d be a top quality option to have coming into Liverpool’s midfield next season.

Salomon Kalou (Lille)

The former Chelsea midfielder would be a great signing for Liverpool because he has Premier League and Champions League experience. However, some very big European sides are thought to be interested in him including Galatasaray and with two-years left on his contract, his price could sky rocket.

Dele Alli (MK Dons)

This would be a great investment if Liverpool could pull it off, but Alli is being watched by several of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals. He has bags of potential and has played well in the third tier of English football so far during a short and very young career.
