The FIFA World Cup is now less than a month away and it is a chance to see the best talent in the footballing world all on show in one month. Not only that, but it is an opportunity for new stars to be born at the competition.
However there is also the opportunity to have a look at players who, for whatever reason, you just cannot believe are playing at this stage.
The rejects that have fought back.
For Tottenham Hotspur that threat comes from Mexican forward Giovani dos Santos.
Spurs paid Barcelona €6 million for the Mexican prodigy who was something of a teen sensation at the time.
In his four years at Tottenham after he made very little impact. In fact the playmakers most impressive times came away from the club whether at Ipswich or Racing Santander - or on international duty with Mexico.
Which brings us to the point, he always puts in a great shift in the Tricolore. Not only that but he is a man in form.
Since leaving Tottenham last summer for RCD Mallorca he has got his career back on track. Nowadays he is at Villarreal and this season he has 10 goals and seven assists from his 30 La Liga games.
At Spurs it never clicked for the attacker, but with a strong team around him and an expected starting place in the team this summer, don't be surprised if Dos Santos makes a few Spurs fans squirmish over the next couple of months.
