I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 16th May 2014, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 16th May 2013…
Wenger plans Roo coup
Arsenal may be after a striker this summer, but they were reportedly after one a year ago as well. In this case the rumour mill began churning that Arsenal were ready to move for Wayne Rooney - as their pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain hit the skids.
Rooney was reportedly ready to quit Old Trafford after falling foul of the management at the club in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season and Arsenal were said to be monitoring the situation with a £70 million transfer kitty set to help them along the way - along with Chelsea.
However Rooney stayed after David Moyes arrived at the club and he is now on £300k-a-week at Old Trafford.
Arsenal's hunt for a new striker has now turned to Karim Benzema.
After much speculation over his future Frank Lampard signed a new deal at Chelsea. The veteran midfielder had broken the club goalscoring record earlier in the month.
But it looks for much of the season as though he would be moving on, with LA Galaxy his most likely next destination.
But instead he signed a new one-year deal. That however is expiring this summer and a renewal remains up in the air.
Golden Balls stops rolling
Manchester United legend and football icon David Beckham announced he would be retiring from the sport at the end of the 2012-13 season.
The 38-year-old star was enjoying a short-term spell at Paris Saint-Germain but after a 20 year career that spanned Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan, PSG and of course Preston he decided enough was enough.
Now he is trying to get his MLS franchise in Miami off the ground.
