According to press reports, Manchester United and Juventus scouts have been impressed by Switzerland Under-17 player Albian Ajeti.

Switzerland's Under-17 European Championship campaign may have been something of a disaster, but for one player it may have opened the door to a move to Manchester United or Juventus.

Defeat to Scotland confirmed that the Swiss were eliminated in the group stage of the competition currently being held in Malta.

But, according to the Swiss press, Basel striker Albian Ajeti did enough to catch the eye of scouts from Manchester United and Juventus.

Ajeti didn't find the target as Switzerland drew 1-1 with Germany, lost 1-0 to Portugal and were beaten 3-1 by Scotland but his movement and vision reportedly caused scouts to jot his name down.

While Ajeti may have been disappointed not to convert any of his numerous chances against Portugal, he came close against Scotland and Germany when he had very little quality ball to work with.

The 17-year-old has six goals in 12 outings for the Swiss Under-17 team and he made his debut in the Europa League against Red Bull Salzburg in March before playing his first domestic game against FC Thun on April 6.

In Switzerland, Ajeti is seen as a real prospect for the future and either Manchester United or Juventus may be well served to swoop now, even if they end up sending him back out on loan to gain some experience.
