Tottenham latest: Midfielder has 'no regrets'; candidate for top job ruled out?

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Midfielder Paulinho has told FourFourTwo that he has no regrets about moving to London after his debut season at Tottenham.

The Brazilian has been subject to transfer speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea of late, but has said he has no problem with being at White Hart Lane.

He said: “If you take a look I was on the field in more than half of the games if you consider the Europa League and the cups. There is no big issue with this, but a footballer always wants to be playing, never resting. We Brazilians are like this.”

Tottenham will listen to offers for Kyle Naughton, Danny Rose and Michael Dawson according to the London Evening Standard.

The Standard also reports that Etienne Capoue could look to leave the club after just the one season but Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado are likely to remain at White Hart Lane, but the latter is reportedly attracting interest from Atletico Madrid.

One of the candidates to replace Tim Sherwood as Tottenham’s Head Coach seems to be happy to stay at his current club according to the Daily Mirror.

Ajax boss Frank De Boer is quoted saying it seems ‘obvious’ why he would want to stay at the Dutch champions, and appears to be planning ahead for the next season.

He said: “If we can keep our team together, we can aim higher next season.

“Then, depending on the draw, you can demand from yourself to reach the [knockout] round of the Champions League – I think that’s a great aim to have.”
