Fiorentina almost certain to send Anderson home

There seems to be little doubt that Fiorentina won't try and pursue the permanent signature of Manchester United's Anderson.

Anderson has been anonymous during his loan spell at Fiorentina and it looks like he'll be headed back to Manchester United this summer.

There were high hopes for the underachieving Brazilian when he arrived at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in January.

But Anderson has only started four games, making three substitute appearances, and has made very little impact.

Injury problems have hampered Anderson's efforts at winning over the Tuscan side's coach Vincenzo Montella and the fans and it seems that few will miss him when his loan deal expires at the start of June.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport is certain that Anderson will be one of five Fiorentina players heading for the exit.

Former Arsenal target Alessandro Matri will head back to AC Milan as his loan ends and he has had a miserable time with the Viola whose fans have taken against him.

Veteran Massimo Ambrosini is expected to look for a new club, possibly in the USA, goalkeeper Antonio Rosati will return to Napoli and defender Facundo Roncaglia may head to Argentina.

There is uncertainty over the future of Sunderland-owned defender Modibo Diakitè, who has fared much better in his loan spell.

La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Diakitè may return to Sunderland only to head back to Fiorentina on a permanent basis.
