Why cash may not be enough for United to secure Vidal deal

Arturo Vidal

Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly ready to axe players to ensure they sign Arturo Vidal from Juventus.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are both reportedly interested in Juventus superstar Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean attacker has been linked strongly with a move to Manchester United but the two La Liga giants are apparently prepared to lose some of their best talent in the process of trying to secure Vidal on a long term deal.

Barcelona are reportedly willing to include Alexis Sanchez or Adriano in a deal while Carlo Ancelotti seems ready to let Alvaro Morata be included as part of Real Madrid’s package.

In short, if Louis van Gaal comes in at United and decides he wants the club to go after Vidal, a huge cash offer may not be enough.

Vidal’s stats this season have been impressive and 11 goals and six assists from midfield shows he’s been an integral part of a midfield which has helped Juventus win a third Serie A title on the bounce.

Juventus may not be open to losing him unless they get a player coming the other way so who could United dispense with to sign the 26-year-old?

There are players on the fringes of the first team squad at United who could be used in part exchange.

Nani is one of the most obvious candidates considering the speculation which has linked him with Juventus strongly over the second half of the season.

The Portuguese winger can add a real attacking element into Juve’s midfield and he can also play down either flank effectively.

Shinji Kagawa is another option, a player confined to a left midfield role at United but someone who could ease the impact of losing Vidal for Juventus in a central midfield position.

Javier Hernandez may also be appealing to Juventus although it’s less likely because his chances of starting up front for Juventus are about as bleak as they are in terms of starting for United at the moment.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are changing the stakes in the race for one of Juve’s best players but United have a couple of tricks up their sleeve they can still use.
