Man United winger Januzaj backed by another Belgian team-mate

Marouane Fellaini has been singing the praises of his club and national compatriot.

Adnan Januzaj’s decision to declare his national allegiance to Belgium ahead of this summer’s World Cup has seen the Manchester United winger receive praise and criticism in equal measure.

However, Marouane Fellaini has come out in his club team-mate’s defence and believes the flying winger can add something new to Marc Wilmots’ team.

“Everybody knows Januzaj’s qualities,” the former Everton midfielder told RTBF.

“I know them particularly well because I play with him. He will bring something new to the team.

“New blood; it feels good. They are young and want to be involved so they will be motivated. I think it is beneficial to the team.”

Januzaj has been named in Belgium’s preliminary World Cup squad of 30 players and is expected to make him national debut in one of the upcoming pre-tournament friendlies.

The United attacker opted for the country of his birth over Serbia, Albania, Kosovo and Turkey.
