Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will target what he calls ‘multi-dimensional signings’ this summer. The Reds are looking to improve their squad ahead of the team’s Champions League involvement.

Luis Suarez has rejected speculation that he could leave the club this summer, with Real Madrid thought to be interested in signing him in a deal worth around €70 million.

Rodgers feels Steven Gerrard may have to retire from playing for England to prolong his club career. Rodgers is wary of the impacts international football will have on his captain after the World Cup.
“I just think he’ll need to assess things after Brazil, as he’ll be 34 then. He’s been a brilliant captain for me, a great leader, a brilliant man. He’ll arrive at the Champions League next season as one of the play-makers of the tournament,” said Rodgers.

“It appeared last week in the British media. For me it was a surprise I must be honest. I personally haven't heard anything,” the goalkeeper told De Telegraaf.
In other news, Manchester United fans are thought to have organised the plane which flew over the stadium during last night’s friendly against Shamrock Rovers. The banner read ‘Giggs 13 Gerrard 0’ in another deliberate poke at Liverpool’s captain.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has also been snapped on the beach in Florida, relaxing after the long season. However, the Mirror points out that England boss Roy Hodgson has advised his World Cup players to avoid long haul flights before the trip to Brazil.
