The Liverpool left-back starred in their 4-0 win in Dublin.

Young Liverpool left-back Brad Smith put in an impressive performance in the 4-0 win over Shamrock Rovers in the Reds' end of season friendly at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

He might have had his one moment of inexperience near the end when his poor back pass to goalkeeper Brad Jones nearly sacrificed their clean sheet but his performance showed a lot of promise.

Some may have recognised him from his substitute appearance in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League earlier on in the season, where he played more as winger rather than in his preferred left-back role.

In Dublin, Smith seemed to show some promise going forward, combined well with Jordon Ibe on the left hand side and also looked threatening going forward.

A lot of fans seemed encouraged by the youngster's display, and he may have given manager Brendan Rodgers something to think about as he prepares for the next season, as the Reds' boss looks to improve the defence and provide competition for when Jose Enrique returns from injury.

So, here is what users on twitter thought of the 20-year-old's performance:
