After being sacked by Tottenham in December Andre Villas-Boas took charge of Zenit St Petersburg of Russia in March, after Italian coach Luciano Spaletti was given the boot, and his time in Russia has been memorable so far.
AVB led his side to six wins in his first six games before a draw with Lokomotiv Moscow, a Russian record for a new manager.
Last weekend they lost their first game under his management, which led to a fan riot and the official abandonment of the game, which was eventually called a 3-0 win to Dinamo Moscow.
And the result could not have come at a worse time, as it let CSKA Moscow slip in and take top spot from Zenit with just one game left.
And today it was confirmed, CSKA are champions.
Zenit did their job, beating Kuban Krasnodar 3-1, but they needed a favour from Lokomotiv Moscow - who also still had a chance of winning the title on the final day.
But a Lokomotiv team containing ex-Spurs players Roman Pavlyuchenko and Vedran Corluka were defeated 1-0 meaning AVB will have to wait if he wants a Russian Premier League title.
The goalscorer for CSKA, and the man who won them the title at AVB's expense, was Zoran Tosic.
Tosic, is a former Manchester United starlet signed in January 2009 from Partizan Belgrade. But he only played 15 minutes of Premier League football for the club during his time in England.
But he is a star for CSKA and after today will go down in folklore as the man who won them the 2013-2014 Russian Premier League title.
